TATTOO AFTERCARE

Caring for your new tattoo is relatively easy.

What you’ll need:

  • A&D Ointment OR Aquaphor
  • Antibacterial soap
  • Paper towels

For the first five days, including the day you receive your tattoo, wash twice with hot water and antibacterial soap. Pat it dry with paper towel, then apply a small quantity of either A&D or Aquaphor. A good rule of thumb is that if you see a shine, you’ve used too much.

It is perfectly normal the first day / night to have some ink rejection you may find on your clothes or bedding. You don’t need to wrap it back up, but please be cautious as to what surfaces you come into contact with, do avoid letting your pets or other animals make contact with the area, and do not fully submerge in bath, pool, hot tub, or river, for the first two to three weeks.

By the sixth or seventh day, you’ll likely experience some itching and peeling. If it itches, slap it – don’t scratch it.

Everyone heals differently, and if tattoo needs a quick touch up, consider it covered*

* Exceptions to free touch ups: Hands, feet, or damage to tattoo caused by client error or accident
